November 20th, 2008: Jackson to attend London lawsuit

LONDON, England (AP) -- Michael Jackson's lawyer says the pop star has agreed to come to London to respond to an Arab sheikh's $7 million lawsuit.

Jackson had asked to testify by a video link from the United States because of an unspecified illness. But his lawyer Robert Englehart informed the court on Thursday that Jackson's doctors had cleared him to travel in two days' time.

Jackson is scheduled to testify on Monday.

Sheik Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa , the second son of the king of Bahrain, claims that Jackson reneged on a contract for an album, a candid autobiography and a stage play, after accepting millions in advances.Jackson says the money was a gift.

The case is being tried in London by mutual agreement, Al Khalifa's representatives have said. It is due to wrap up by the end of the month.

November 13th, 2008: Neverland & 'Sycamore Valley Ranch, LLC'

In response to several reports, Michael Jackson has not sold the Neverland ranch.

Neverland was transferred from Jackson to Sycamore Valley Ranch Company LLC. This new company is a joint venture between Michael Jackson and Colony Capital, Inc.

As the co-owner of Sycamore Valley Ranch, Michael Jackson still has relevant rights to the property and now has the possibility to develop a range of business and entertainment activities (hotels, amusement parcs, museums etc....).

Let's wait and see what Michael Jackson has in mind for this project...

He was at Off the Wall, the West Hollywood antique store that bears the same name as his 1979 album. An inside source tells E! News that the rarely seen star bought a Pan Am aluminum cast model airplane.

The source says Michael was looking around at other items but only purchased the plane. "It was a little difficult because people were pounding on doors and windows...so he was in and out pretty quick," an eyewitness tells E! News. "The paparazzi were in hot pursuit of him."

Despite the chaos going on outside, the source said Michael didn't seem worried. "He was great," says the source.

As Jackson was exiting the store, another eyewitness tells E! News that paparazzi and fans were everywhere. "He came out and shielded himself with an umbrella at first," says another eyewitness. "Once he got in his car, he cracked the window and reached out and started shaking people's hands."

September 10th, 2008: Michael Jackson: The Next Step

As the 2008 - 2009 season is about to begin, let's have a good  start and try to analyse all the latest rumours and also give a  glimpse to Michael Jackson's projects.

Such drastic procedure had already been used in the 80's and the early 90's. Back then the official market was strong and under control, filled with officially licensed products - globalwise. There were so many official items that the illegal paraphernalia was a mere minority.

1 000 copies of Thriller 25: the book will also be sold in Brazil along with the MJ50 CD: the Brazilian Collection.

But that's not all: to accompany the release of this book, a range of official MJ products (more than 20) will soon be available: new posters, along with canvas, badges etc... It has also been said and reported that Christian Audigier has been in talks with Michael Jackson to design a range of exclusive Jackson /  Audigier items (T-Shirts, caps etc...). Audigier tried to reach Jackson's lawyer, Peter Lopez. The French "couturier" has been desperate in trying to get to Michael. He has no signed contract and his projects are to remain on the paper. Audigier also damaged his reputation among MJ fans a few days ago: as he was filmed during his 50th birthday bash, his mockery of Michael Jackson was a serious blow to his fragile reputation as a potential new Michael Jackson's business partner. He may have paid for a rare public appearance by the superstar, but that will be it.

The viral communication and the global promotional campaign for this project have been superb. With more than 2 million copies sold worldwide, the revised version of Jackson's classic is a success. Last month, Akon announced that the Hold My Hand track would appear on his new album, Acquitted, to be released this October. Hold My Hand is Michael's first incursion into [radio friendly] Reggae since Joe Carrasco's 1982 Don't Let A Woman Make A Fool Out Of You (Michael sings background vocals on that rare song). Akon teaming up with Jackson may be a hint of what 2009 will be made of. Michael Jackson is an artist. He has been recording music and working on various ideas and projects for years. Be it on wax, screen, online or anywhere else, be assured that all those projects are concrete baby steps announcing the much anticipated return of Michael Jackson - the King of Pop.

September 05th, 2008: The Jacksons crowned at BMI Urban Awards

T-Pain received the songwriter of the year award and shared the title of producer of the year with Jonathan "J.R." Rotem and Kanye West at BMI's Urban Awards, handed out Thursday at the Wilshire Theater in Beverly Hills.

Song of the year honors went to Beyonce's "Irreplaceable," co-written by Ne-Yo, Amund Bjoerklund and Espen Lind, while Universal Music Publishing Group secured the publisher of the year nod.

Rick Ross, T-Pain, Lil Wayne, Soulja Boy, Ray J and Yung Berg performed award-winning songs.

On hand to pick up the BMI Icon Award were the Jacksons, represented by Marlon, Randy, Tito and Jackie plus sisters Janet, La Toya & Rebbie. JoJo, Lloyd, Mario, O.N.E., Bobby Valentino and Keri Hilson performed hits by the Jacksons and the Jackson 5.

Speaks Exclusively to 'GMA' About His Past, His Future, His Dreams for His Children

Speaking by phone from his home in California, at times so softly he was barely audible, Jackson said he was listening to a little James Brown and preparing for his 50th birthday Friday, when he will have a little cake and watch cartoons with his children, and then get back to work.

Does turning 50 mean he now has an AARP card?
"Not that I know of!" Jackson said, laughing.
He said he still can do all his famous dance moves and "more."
"I feel very young," he said.
Reflecting back, Jackson said the happiest time in his life was probably when he was recording his hit solo albums "Thriller" and "Off the Wall" –- which propelled him to the height of his stardom.

Asked to pick a single song as his greatest achievement, Jackson went back to the same period.
"Oh boy, that's a hard one," he said, before singling out "We Are the World," and "Billie Jean," adding that there were "so many others."
But Jackson was not content to rest on his laurels, saying, "I am still looking forward to doing more."
He hopes to release new music and tour, though he doesn't have dates set.
"I am writing all the time," he said. "I love it."

He said he hopes to "be myself" in his future work, but also be "inspired by great artists," noting he wished he could have worked with Brown or Fred Astaire.
He sees his influence in some of today's artists, specifically mentioning Chris Brown.
Asked if his kids are good dancers, Jackson said, "I don't push them."
Asked if he'd like them to have the same sort of upbringing as him, he said he'd prefer to let them "enjoy their childhood" as much as possible.
It "means a lot when I see them on a ride," he said, "having a really good time."
If he could go back and give himself some advice at age 9 or 10, he would advise himself to know his craft and be tough, but also to have "rhinoceros skin."

Magic

My idea of magic doesn't have much to do with stage tricks and illusions. The whole world abounds in magic. When a whale plunges out of the sea like a newborn mountain, you gasp in unexpected light. What magic! But a toddler who sees his first tadpole flashing in a mud puddle feels the same thrill. Wonder fills his heart, because he has glimpsed for an instant the playfulnes of life.

When I see the clouds whisked away from a snow-capped peak, I feel like shouting, "Bravo!" Nature, the best of all magicians, has delivered another thrill. She has exposed the real illusion, our inability to be amazed by her wonders. Everytime the sun rises, Nature is repeating one command: "Behold!" Her Magic is infinitely lavish, and in return all we have to do is appreciate it.

What delight Nature must feel when she makes stars out of swirling gas and empty space. She flings them like spangles from a velvet cape, a billion reasons for us to awaken in pure joy. When we open our hearts and appreciate all she has given us, Nature finds her reward. The sound of applause rolls across the universe, and she bows.

Love

Love is a funny thing to describe. It's so easy to feel and yet so slippery to talk about. It's like a bar of soap in the bathtub - you have it in your hand until you hold on too tight.

Some people spend their lives looking for love outside themselves. They think they have to grasp it in order to have it. But love slips away like that wet bar of soap.

Holding on to love is not wrong, but you need to learn to hold it lightly, caressingly. Let it fly when it wants. When it's allowed to be free, love is what makes life alive, joyful and new. It's the juice and energy that motivates my music, my dancing, everything. As long as love is in my heart, it's everywhere.

BMG Japan will release a brand new remastered edition of Greg Phillinganes' 1985 album Pulse on CD.

One rare pressing was released by RCA/BMG in Germany (1990).

The new limited edition is remastered and comes with Paper Sleeve (just like the 2006 reissue of Carole Bayer Sager's Sometimes Late At Night).
